Holster Qualifications
Why do we require holster qualifications?
At Triangle Shooting Academy, the safety of our guests and team is our top priority. To ensure a safe and controlled environment, all shooters must complete safety training before being qualified to draw from a holster on our range. This training ensures that each participant demonstrated proper handling, awareness, and technique, minimizing the risk of negligent discharges or unsafe movements. By requiring this qualification, we help maintain a secure and enjoyable experience for everyone on the range.Â
How to become holster qualified:
- Successful completion of Defensive Pistol 1 and Defensive Pistol 2 at Triangle Shooting Academy
- Â Private Instructions or training taken outside our facility cannot be a substitute for the completion of these courses.
Automatic Qualification
State or Federal sworn law enforcement officers do not need to take Defensive Pistol 1 and Defensive Pistol 2. Sworn law enforcement officers are individuals who have taken an oath to uphold the law, are authorized to carry a firearm, have arrest powers, and wear a badge. Corrections officers do not automatically qualify for holster qualification.
