Jump right into training by registering for Private Instruction! Our Private Instruction caters to the student’s specific shooting needs, allowing all students to hone their desired skills. Students can be trained on handguns, rifles, and shotguns. Please note your preference when completing the Private Instruction Form.
Most Private Instructions begin with a few minutes of classroom time. This time allows the instructor and student to get acquainted, cover goals and review basic firearm safety. Following the classroom, students will begin live-fire drills on the range or may continue working on the fundamentals using one of our state-of-the-art simulators. Private Instruction will follow a pace that is best suited for the individual student.
Students and instructors are paired up based on the student’s desired skills, current skill level, and the topic of instruction. Students may request a particular Instructor if they wish.

Learn the fundamentals of the AR and have fun practicing. This introductory course will focus on the fundamentals of shooting and marksmanship with an AR-style rifle. Fundamentals such as loading/unloading techniques, positions, sight alignment/picture will be explained and put into practice through live-fire drills.

It's more than just looking good - keep your handgun functioning properly! The course is designed to educate shooters on how to properly field strip and clean their handgun(s). Instructors will work with you to take down your firearm and walk you through the process of cleaning and proper maintenance plus, re-assembly with function check. Pistols and revolvers are permitted. All experience levels are welcome!

Begin to focus on the details of shooting as these drills increase in difficulty. Intermediate Pistol transitions shooters from Basic Handgun to our Defensive Pistol Series. The course focuses on the repetition of fundamentals which are often taught but rarely emphasized. Our goal for Intermediate Pistol is to increase students’ knowledge, experience and confidence in a challenging and fun environment. Shooters can expect to fire approximately 150-200 rounds throughout our increasingly challenging drills. This is our longest range-time course with over three hours of live-fire!

This is the prerequisite course for an application to obtain an NC Concealed Carry Handgun permit. The course opens with a safety briefing, followed by the shooting qualification on the firing range. After the shooting qualification, there will be 8 hours of classroom training, ending with the written test. Successful completion of the course, and subsequently receiving a CCH Certificate, requires that students pass the shooting and written exams. After successful completion of the course, students will be able to apply for their NC CCH permit with their respective county's Sheriff's Office. This course does not teach students how to shoot. Students will not have a "practice" period prior to testing. Students must already have the skills required to pass the shooting qualification.

Learn the practical applications and strategic techniques for using an AR rifle. Tactical AR 1 is designed for intermediate AR Rifle experience levels. AR fundamentals will be emphasized throughout the course while adding additional techniques and grips. Overhand C-Clamp, tactical awareness and emergency reloads will be new topics introduced during this course.
Prerequisites: None. However, the successful completion of Basic Handgun and Intermediate Pistol is strongly suggested. Most students fail Defensive Pistol 1 without these suggested courses.

You've got your handgun, now learn how to use it when you need it! This course is the first in a series of four Defensive Pistol Courses. The course reemphasizes the fundamentals of firearm handling while adding in factors of mindset, defensive skills, and techniques. Warning: This is not a beginner course! We strongly suggest all participants successfully complete Intermediate Pistol prior to starting the Defensive Pistol Series. If you have not taken and successfully passed Intermediate Pistol at Triangle Shooting Academy, you will be required to take an online test to ensure that you have the required understanding of skills.

Start to master your firearm under time and environmental pressure. Building on skills taught in Defensive Pistol 1, students will learn how to properly draw from a holster, the engagement sequence and the pro-active reload. This course will gradually increase in difficulty based on time restrictions and distractions produced by instructors.
Prerequisites: NC Concealed Carry Handgun Permit; Individuals who have taken the TSA CCH Course and are waiting for their CCH permit to be issued
Duration: 4 Hours
Learn how to properly carry, draw and reholster from a concealed position. In Conceal Carry 2: Practical Skills, we will cover many of the most recent changes to firearms laws. We will also cover the Castle Doctrine. There will be dry-firing practice in the classroom. On the range, students will practice drawing from concealed, drawing from a holster, acquiring the target, firing from varying distances and re-holstering a loaded firearm safely. Students must be proficient in basic firearm handling.

Don't count on having the lights on. Learn to shoot defensively in low to no light. Defensive Pistol 3 teaches students to apply the skills developed in previous Defensive Pistol courses in low to no-light scenarios. Additionally, students will learn various flashlight techniques including one-handed shooting with both dominant and non-dominant hands.

Bring it on! Learn to protect yourself against several opponents at one time. This course is designed to bring all skills together while safely moving between obstacles and remaining engaged with multiple targets. Students will master shooting and critical handgun-handling techniques while moving and from unconventional positions such as prone, kneeling, and seated.
